David Zamarin Makes Forbes 30 Under 30 List

DetraPel Inc., announced today that its Founder, David Zamarin made the prestigious 2021 Forbes 30-Under-30 list. At just 23 years old, Babson College alum Zamarin is among the youngest in this year’s Manufacturing and Industry category!

“The whole thing is surreal. I come to work because I love the thrill of experiencing something new every day and knowing that we’re creating products that are truly helping others. To be recognized for such a prestigious honor just for doing what I love, makes it even better.”

Zamarin’s work in chemical manufacturing began when he sold his shoe-cleaning business at 15 years old. He wanted to create a solution to keep belongings clean and protected while being harmless for people, pets and the planet alike. With the invention of his PFAS-free liquid repellent, Zamarin garnered attention when he displayed the effectiveness of his non-toxic stain-repellent on the hit ABC TV show Shark Tank in 2018 where he received offers from 4 out of the 5 Sharks.

Fast-forward to today, DetraPel now proudly boasts a diverse consumer and industrial product line of fabric protectors, cleaners, and disinfectants. DetraPel’s protective coatings safely protect shoes, car seats, furniture, carpets, baby items and more from stubborn stains and liquid damage. But Zamarin shows no signs of slowing down.

This year, DetraPel demonstrated an unprecedented response to the local community during the COVID-19 pandemic with the pivot to sanitizing and disinfecting products.

“Since the beginning of the outbreak, we invested heavily in state-of-the-art high-speed production lines that increased our capacity to 3 million+ units per month. We are now well positioned to reliably supply large retailers, some of which faced extreme product shortages over the past few months. With our infrastructure in place, we felt it was our obligation to make these essential products which are so critical to the health and safety of so many,”

In the coming weeks, DetraPel will be releasing several new consumer products including faster-acting disinfectants and protective coatings that can be sprayed on fabric masks to increase their effectiveness to surgical-grade N95 levels.
